Kareedouw is the second town to adopt the Bible Reading Marathon in South Africa, independently to the original marathon in Despatch (which later moved to Kariega (Uitenhage)). Each town’s Bible Reading Marathon is organised independently, but utilises resources provided by the original organisers of the Bible Reading Marathon in South Africa.

The Bible Reading Marathon in Kareedouw was held in conjunction with NG Church Kareedouw and the Church of Tzitzikamma.

‘On Tuesday evening, 24 October 2023, at 20:00 we began reading out loud in Genesis 1:1,  until Saturday, 28 October 2023, at 11:57am we finished Revelation 22:21 in 88 hours.  “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God”‘.
